​“Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for supporting our Early Childhood Education program and Cuda Care Preschool through your generous grant funding. We truly appreciate your investment in our students and preschoolers.
Our project, “Climbing Toward the Future: Building Strong Kids & Strong Teachers,” focused on enhancing our outdoor learning environment with the addition of a climbing dome and play tunnel for our preschool playground.
The equipment has been a tremendous success for both our preschool students and our high school student teachers. The preschoolers have been developing important gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, strength, and spatial awareness while engaging in active outdoor play. The new equipment has also encouraged teamwork, confidence, problem-solving, and social interaction among the children.
For our high school Early Childhood Education students, the project created meaningful hands-on teaching opportunities. Student teachers practiced facilitating safe and developmentally appropriate outdoor play, modeling cooperative behavior, observing developmental milestones, and supporting preschoolers through guided play experiences. It has truly become an outdoor learning lab where both age groups benefit every day.
