Kiwanis READS!
What is "Kiwanis READS!"?
So many times children actually lose some of what they have learned during the school year when they are on summer break. This is especially true for the younger students who are just learning to read. Kiwanis partners with some of the local elementary schools to encourage summer reading and even to get excited about it. Children in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades get to select two books from a wide number of options to take home as their own. Kiwanis also provides each of these children with a backpack for their books and encourages them to have fun reading all summer long.
